Does FedEx still guarantee overnight delivery?
Yes, on most FedEx Express overnight services, but not on all of them and not continuously. FedEx currently applies its Money-Back Guarantee to FedEx First Overnight, FedEx Priority Overnight, FedEx Standard Overnight, FedEx 2Day A.M., FedEx First / Priority / Standard Overnight Extra Hours and FedEx International (U.S. import/export). It does not currently apply to FedEx 2Day, FedEx Express Saver and FedEx Ground / Home Delivery. The guarantee was suspended across the board on December 1, 2025 during MD-11 safety reviews and reinstated in stages through early 2026.

What changed, and when
FedEx has moved this more than once in the past year, which is the main reason shippers get it wrong. The sequence:
- December 1, 2025 — FedEx suspends the Money-Back Guarantee during MD-11 safety reviews. Nothing is claimable.
- January 13, 2026 — The guarantee is reinstated on overnight services: First Overnight, Priority Overnight, Standard Overnight, 2Day A.M. and the First / Priority / Standard Overnight Extra Hours contract services.
- February 12, 2026 — International services are reinstated.
- Still suspended — FedEx 2Day and Express Saver have not been reinstated. FedEx Ground and Home Delivery carry no published guarantee at all.
A shipper who checked once in December and concluded there was nothing to claim has been leaving refunds on the table every week since January.

What a guarantee is actually worth
On a guaranteed service, a late delivery entitles you to a full refund of the shipping charge — not a partial credit and not a service discount. The catch is that FedEx does not issue it on its own. Notice required within 15 calendar days of the invoice date. If nobody identifies the late shipment and files inside that window, the money expires quietly.
That is the whole reason this is a service rather than a report. Invoices post weekly, the window is short, and the eligible service list keeps moving.
